CRUSTY PILLOW BUNS

Instructions:

1.   In a large bowl, combine sifted bread flour, yeast, and salt. Mix until combined.

2.   Add in water, olive oil, and drizzle of honey.

3.   Mix with spatula until the wet and dry ingredients are combined. The dough should be slightly sticky and not crumby with flour. If so, add water in increments careful not to over-wet the dough.

4.   Form into roughly shaped ball and grease the bowl with oil. Cover with plastic wrap overnight approximately 12 hours.

5.   Preheat oven to 430°F.

6.   Shape dough into six pieces and roughly form into balls, making sure to pinch together the ends when forming into balls or else the bread will break part in the oven.

7.   On a large baking tray, place dough about 3 inches apart. Place plastic wrap and rest for another 30 minutes.

8.   Fill a a cake pan with about 1 cup of water and place onto lowest baking rack. This will ensure the outer texture is slightly crispy like French bread while the inside is pillowy soft.

9.   Optional, lightly dust buns with flour. Bake the bread for about 25 to 30 minutes.

Pair with butter or your favorite jam. Such a perfect fall activity. :)

I love doing one side with yuzu jam & homemade nut butter and the other with butter!

         Enjoy xx.
